10 Dec Christmas comes early for four lucky Today’s retailers
Four Today’s retailers have been awarded cash prizes to the value of £20,000 and a van worth £20,000 after being announced winners of the Checkout Mania 2015 trade event day programme.
The prizes were awarded to the retailers this week at the Today’s Group Doncaster headquarters. Dee Bee customer and winner of the van, Kulasekaram Kasinaihan, (pictured) said, “I’ve needed a van for so long – my car just isn’t big enough anymore so this really is perfect timing. It’s saved me thousands of pounds which I can invest elsewhere into improving my store.”
Goldstar Wholesale customer and winner of the top cash prize of £10,000, Mukesh Patel at The Candy Box, said, “I never thought that when I entered the Checkout Mania trade day draw that I would win. It’s a huge help to my business and we’d like to say a big thank you to Goldstar and to Today’s Group.”
Elbrook customer Kuhanathan Lavi of News Agent & Convenience Store and Davidson cash & carry customer Angela Stewart of Village News both won cash prizes of £5,000, which they will be spending on preparing for the festive period. “It’s brilliant news, especially right before Christmas”, said Kuhanathan. “I’ll be using it to invest in stocking up our spirits range, which always flies off the shelf in December”
For Angela the prize will help to keep cash flow going over the festive period. “Our business can tend to slow down a little around Christmas so this generous prize is a great support. Thanks so much to the team at Davidson and Today’s for putting on another brilliant trade day.”
