25 Oct Women in wholesale triumphs!
Wholesale’s top female bosses and up-and-coming talent attended the inaugural Women in Wholesale conference this week, which took place at 1 Wimpole Street in London.
Nearly 100 delegates, 60% of whom were wholesalers, attended the educational networking event, including senior level managers and directors from Booker, Bidvest, Bestway, JJ Food Service, Costco, Palmer & Harvey, Country Range, Today’s Group and more.
Speakers addressed a range of issues covering general market trends, management and leadership, recruitment strategy and the gender diversity agenda in business.
A key outcome of the day was the FWD’s announcement of a new fund to support the progression of women and a target of 50% of FWD training grants going to women by 2018.
Event organiser Elit Rowland said, “It’s an exciting time to be a woman working in wholesale – this event has received great support demonstrating the enthusiasm around supporting and progressing female talent. We’ve already secured a venue twice the size for next year!”
