14 Jul JJ Foodservice Launches ‘Women in Fish and Chips’
National wholesaler JJ Food Service is launching the UK’s first ever Women in Fish and Chips (WiFC) event to help female chippies to meet other successful operators and grow their business networks.
The event will be held on Monday 13th January from 10am at The Studio, 7 Cannon St. B2 5EP.
Proposed event chairperson, Nikki Hawkins, Trade Events Manager at the Sea Fish Industry Authority (Seafish) said: “I have been working in the seafood industry for 18 years. It can only help to inspire other females and make the fish and chip sector attractive to a wider pool of talent.”

64% would like to build their business networks and connections. 62% said they would like to have support with managing staffing issues and 57% would like the opportunity to sample new products. 43% said they need help to balance work and home life better.
JJ Foodservice supplies thousands of fish and chip shops in the UK across 11 different branches.
“We care passionately about the fish and chip shop sector and want to provide all the support we can to ensure our customers succeed,” said Group General Manager for JJ Foodservice, Terry Larkin.
The event will provide a “friendly, informal network for like-minded women to meet and connect, helping individuals to thrive on both a personal and professional level,” he added.
