05 Apr JJ Food Service sustains top 30 UK wholesaler status
National food and drink specialist JJ Food Service has prevailed against competitive trading conditions to sustain its top 30 UK wholesaler position, ranking in at 21st for the third year running.*
The independent, family-run business reported sales of £182.7m for the year ending 31st March 2014 with profits soaring by 65%.
A key focus for JJ over the past twelve months has been supporting customers to move online. “Having an online presence is more important than ever, particularly for our restaurant and takeaway customers”, said managing director Mustafa Kiamil.
“At the start of the year FOODit was launched – a software company developed to help restaurants get online and to optimise where they rank in search engines. When we started off we had just two developers and now have more than 30, with hundreds of restaurants signed up. The business has plans to expand in to the US and Australia over the next year,”he added.
This year, JJ will continue its push into the pubs, restaurant and hotels sectors and has announced plans to open two new depots in 2015. The business will develop its fresh meats offering with a butchery proposed for the Enfield branch this year.
