06 Jun Blakemore Wholesale signs up to Alchemy
The UK’s third largest wholesaler Blakemore Wholesale has signed up to Alchemy, a cloud-based reporting tool which provides the business and its suppliers with on-the-go access to sales-out data.
The group is the first wholesaler to sign up to Alchemy, which monitors sales through Blakemore’s 14 depots. Blakemore Wholesale’s Managing Director, Russell Grant said, “Introducing this level of transparency means that we can develop plans with our suppliers based on meaningful insight. As a result, we can agree and implement joint strategies that will grow our business in a sustainable way”
In addition to being a sales reporting tool, Alchemy identifies development opportunities by reviewing average selling price, highlighting under-performing depots, as well as reporting product sales by business type and customer count. Alchemy is designed to help manufacturers do more than just monitor sales out, they can also improve distribution, determine optimum price points and focus resource where opportunity is greatest all in a handy, easy-to-use App.

Over 100 of Blakemore’s top suppliers have already signed up for the new service. “We are delighted at the positive feedback we are getting for the new system both from the buying team and our suppliers,” said Grant.
In response to the growing level of interest that Alchemy has received from wholesalers, The Whole Sale Co has launched Alchemy WholeView, giving manufacturers the option to merge data or add additional data sets alongside what they are already seeing.
Developed by wholesale supply chain and data management experts, Tanya Pepin and Mike McGee, Alchemy has been developed to make big wholesale data accessible, useable and visual for suppliers. It is designed to enable suppliers to easily consolidate their multiple data sets into a single database and provides highly visual insight to sales and account management teams through its mobile App.
Tools such as heat maps identify underperforming regions and depot scorecards highlight opportunity by branch. Suppliers also have access to reports that summarise 13 week, year-to-date, and moving-annual-totals.
