19 Apr JJ Food Service makes its debut on Sunday Times Profit Track 100
National wholesaler JJ Food Service has been named one of the most profitable businesses in the UK by the Sunday Times after securing 70th position on the Profit Track 100 league table.
The Profit Track 100 ranks Britain’s top 100 private companies with the fastest-growing profits over their latest three years. JJ reported annual profit growth of 66.38%.
JJ managing director Mustafa Kiamil said: “Our market has changed dramatically over the past few years and it shows no sign of slowing. By continuing to listen to our customers and adapt to changes in shopper behaviour, particularly the move to online ordering on the go, we continue to thrive. I would like to thank all our staff, suppliers and customers for their continued support and loyalty.”
Over the past year, JJ has expanded its fresh meat, fruit, vegetable, Frozen at Sea fish and own brand lines. Last year it launched a new ‘smart’ customer ordering app and website, with machine-learning technology to predict shoppers’ orders. It has just completed the installation of solar panels on its Sidcup and Enfield branches. The business has plans to open more sites throughout 2016.
